Khvanchkara
Schuchmann
Red semi-sweet
Alc. 13% | e. 0.75 L
Made from 100% Saperavi grapes , cultivated on Mukuzani vineyards on the fertile north bank of the Alazani river and not harvested until the beginning of October. This great wine is then aged in the very best oak for three years providing that hint of spices that gives the masterpiece its depth. Mukuzani boasts a rich palette of ripe berries, black currant and plums mellowing down to a lingering wash of luscious blackberry flavors and a spicy oak depth that ranks this magnificent dry wine right up there with the best classic reds that compliment the very best meals.
This wine has won many prizes: The 2014 vintage of this wine won the International Wine & Spirit Competition Bronze award in 2017 and 2016.
This is more affordable than many wines from Kakheti.
